This virus is named after the resources it installs. There are two known ΓÇ£strainsΓÇ¥ of this virus. These are simply called nVIRΓÇôA and nVIRΓÇôB. There is also a version of nVIRΓÇôB that uses resources of type ΓÇ£HpatΓÇ¥ instead of ΓÇ£nVIRΓÇ¥ and installs CODE 255 into applications. Other variations use resources of type ΓÇ£AIDSΓÇ¥, ΓÇ£MEV#ΓÇ¥, ΓÇ£nFLUΓÇ¥, and
ΓÇ£JudeΓÇ¥.
It has been discovered that an nVIR resource with an ID of 10 will block an infection by this virus. Therefore many virus removal and protection programs will install this resource into Systems and applications.

However, it is my opinion that since many detection programs detect the presence of ANY nVIR resource as an infection, the presence of this resource may cause confusion. I feel that regular and cautious use of a good virus detection program is of greater benefit.
